Brixham

The Gem in South Devon's crown

Welcome to Brixham, the beating

heart of the English Riviera

Brixham is situated on the beautiful stretch of South Devon coastline that has been heralded the 'English Riviera', for obvious reasons...

In 2012, Brixham was named as The United Kingdom's most profitable fishing port, and this record has been upheld in recent years thanks to the development of our brand new, state-of-the-art Fish Market, opened by Princess Ann in 2011. You can take a tour of the new Fish Market in summer - it's an early morning start but well worth it.

Thanks to its vibrant and active community minded local population, Brixham boasts a large and varied schedule of events that are held throughout the entire year, see our dedicated Brixham events page to see which events will be on when you visit.

Not only does Brixham offer beautiful sea views, amazing local events and a hugely important fish market, it also makes a great starting location for a coastal walk, of which many can be enjoyed around both Torbay and South Devon. See our Local Walks page if this is something you'd be interested in.

It wouldn't be much good if we had this huge fish market but nowhere to serve delicious and brilliant food from would it!

Fortunately, Brixham has a wonderful array of different restaurants, cafes and bars to enjoy both fish and non-fish dishes, there

really is something for everyone, from a gastro-pub, to fine dining, even carribean themed food!

Brixham's population swells from around 20,000 to around 40-50,000 in the summer months and peak 'holiday' season, and we really hope to see you adding to that in the near future by booking your holiday with Sampford House, Fisherman's Cottage and Holiday Lets Brixham.
